VAN HALEN To Tour With DAVID LEE ROTH IN 2007? - Oct. 26, 2006

MelodicRock.com (http://www.melodicrock.com/) is reporting that VAN HALEN will likely tour in 2007 with David Lee Roth as frontman. Citing "information from a highly placed source," the site states that negotiations are currently underway to reunite VAN HALEN with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that will take in America and possibly other territories.

It is not presently clear if VAN HALEN's upcoming touring plans will include bassist Michael Anthony, who has apparently had a falling out with guitarist Eddie Van Halen. In a recent appearance on "The Howard Stern Show", Eddie hinted that the bassist slot would be filled by his son Wolfgang, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.

TMZ.com (http://www.tmz.com/) reports that VAN HALEN has officially hired 15-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen — the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and estranged wife Valerie Bertinelli, and nephew of drummer Alex Van Halen — as the new bassist for the band.

Wolfgang replaces longtime bassist Michael Anthony, who left the band earlier this year. VAN HALEN spokesperson Janie Liszewski tells TMZ.com that Wolfgang, known as "Wolfie," has already joined his dad and uncle for rehearsals in the studio. Wolfie played dates with his father during the band's 2004 tour, and the song "316" on 1991's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was named for Wolfie's birth date that same year.

According to TMZ.com, the band is still without a lead singer, despite rumors that David Lee Roth might rejoin.
