Several people have suggested that we'd be better off scrapping the rep system. It causes retarded little beefs sometimes, and doesn't really add that much to the site - at least that's what some people think.

We could get rid of the points aspect of it, and that would make it so it's no longer a big dick contest.

What do you think we should do?

i like rep, its a motivation to post good, and a slap on the wrist of those who dont....the problem is not poor use of reps, but rather people not using their reps effectively. I think people who've been on here longer and have more reps, should have more say about what is good or not...its like paying your dues, eventually you get rep power, especially if your a contributing member...perhaps there cold just be an adjustment so that you can only rep someone once a week or something...so to further discourage rep misuses

Why would you wanna reset all reps? I have like the most posts ant the least rep and you dont see me crying. Rep is used on other boards and works fine. People that have a lot of rep earned it and if some people are using it more than others than who cares? Rep is cool. I dont give a fuck if someone has earned his rep or was just reped for crappy posts...Rep has brought more to the board then it took from us... And draw a thick line between e-beef and rep. It has nothing in common. Just look at nhh...
And mr marker has a shitload of rep and hes been here a short time so i dont see what hes crying about. Just leave the system as it is. People will always complain. Just get rid of toggling posts. No one even uses that shit when you have rep.

I don't think it's completely meaningless. It's a good way to give and receive input about your posts. There's some stupid shit that goes on, but that's the meaningless part. The majority of reps acknowledge a good post.

i think leave it as is but the people that have like 4 or 10 etc rep, when they rep someone it gives them that many rep points like 4 or 10 etc, instead of that just make every rep +1. Like still have it that peoples reps go up to whatever say 11 like gloves but make it when he reps someone it only reps 1 point not 11. And make it so everyone can rep, start everyone at 1 instead of zero. Just my thoughts, leave the same but make each rep given 1 instead of what the persons rep is, then you wont have people with 10 rep each repping each other so they have the most.

Yeah man the majority of the board wants the system to stay. I also wanna say that thanks to the system we have less beef in threads. If you dislike someone or someones post you can do it privately via rep and others dont have to get involved.
