Watch this short video (04:28) and tell me what you think about what this guy is saying:

I want to see what other people think about this concept of anarchy before I give my own input.

"Hey, we need a road, let's build a road."

Awesome, building roads!

I like owning a few things tho, So I'm not totally sold on this type of socialism.

I will reserve my final judgement until Kenrda weighs in on the subject.

He says that anarchy is not an ideology and that is so far from the truth. Anarchy wants the destruction of the state and of the class system and expounds that we would be more free without these things. They set up a radical vision of how they want society to work and that makes it an ideology. When you look at the history of anarchist bomb-throwers, it is the tell-tale sign of people zealous over an ideology.

The major problem with anarchy is that it says that society would be run better without government or classes, but it can not assure us of what life would be like without these things. Even "direct democracies" like Athens had stratified classes that we would find oppressive today.

Anarchy is a concept that cuts itself off at the knees, for saying that there should be no laws is already establishing a law. I would guess that people would band together and create large communties and then large bureaucracies. Eventually, a few large bureaucracies would control all of the resources and their distribution. They would create protocols and requirements and we would end up with rules and government again. That, of course, is just a guess but it is something that could very well happen under anarchy. The only way one would support anarchy is with a romantic and highly ideological view of humankind.

The band Black Flag named themselves after an anarchist symbol and tried to stay true to the anarchist life. Eventually it blew up in their faces but they got some good years out of it and made some of the greatest music in the history of rock n roll. Seriously.

Talley already said everything I had to say, so I'll just point out that fact and go about my business in another thread. Oh, and fight the power.

Just as gut-wrenchingly-fucking-stupid as Libertarianism... but with pipe bombs and mosh pits.

what hes saying is no more than a dream, because of what capitalism has already done to people. espically brits and americians. if he some how managed to 'take away the police force' does he really think that would 'take away 95% of crime'? People are already too far gone to revert back to being nice to one another and living off the land and helping one another bullshit. there would be a fucking massive gang war, althority has always been derived though violence.

fav quote of that speech: 'you all ways going to have your axe murder or whatever'

or mabey

'Why would you steal somthing if you have a house'? i suspect that most thieves have houses in all honesty.

To be fair this guy is chatting pure shit.

RECLAIM THE STREETS!

this guy is a real tosser. who's going to take away private ownership except a strong, oppressive government? also, if you take away the government, capitalism is going to be one of the only organizations that will remain, and it will remain because it is natural and self sustainable. only, capitalism without control structures inevitably leads to one giant monopoly that owns everything. if you ask me, that's much much worse than a shitty government.
